Overview

What stands out

●
Head and foot adjust on their own
The head section and the foot section each lift from their own buttons on the remote, for reading, watching television or sleeping raised.
●
Built to order in Georgia
Flexabed builds each bed by hand in LaFayette, Georgia, in the size, the length and the mattress you choose.
●
Thirteen sizes, with a one-piece King
Twin, Full, Queen, King and Split Queen side, each in two or three lengths. The Premier is the only Flexabed made as a one-piece King.
●
Takes your headboard
Headboard mounting brackets are fitted at the factory, so the bed can carry a headboard you already own.
●
Wireless or wired remote
The wireless remote stores four positions and has a flat button and a flashlight. The wired remote runs the head and the foot, and has the flashlight.
●
Ready for side rails
Order side rails with the bed and Flexabed fits their mounting plates at the factory. The bed takes up to four.
●
Lowers flat in a power cut
Two 9V batteries in the power supply, which are not included, lower the bed to flat if the power fails.
●
Runs from a phone
With the wireless remote the bed can also be run from the Okin SmartBed app on an iPhone or an Android phone over Bluetooth, and the app can set a wake-up alarm.
The Hieline Take

The Premier lifts the head and the foot from the remote and stays at one height, so it suits someone who wants to sleep raised or sit up in bed and has no need for the whole bed to rise for a caregiver. The Hi-Low SL is the Flexabed that does that. On the Premier the top of the foundation is 13-1/2" from the floor on casters and 11-1/4" on leg pads, and Flexabed gives the standard bed height as 22". It is the only Flexabed made as a one-piece King, where both sleepers move together. For two sides that adjust on their own, order two Twin beds to make a king, or two Split Queen sides to make a queen. Four things are worth knowing before you order. Side rails mount on plates that Flexabed fits at the factory, so order the rails with the bed, and a Split Queen side takes no side rails at all. The standard frame carries a person of up to 300 lbs., and Flexabed recommends its Heavy Duty Reinforcement for anyone heavier. Voice control, massage and the underbed lights work only with the wireless remote. Both remotes are shared with the Hi-Low SL, so each has two bed height buttons that do nothing on a Premier. Flexabed states that an adjustable bed should not be considered an alternative to a hospital bed, and that a physician should be consulted where health issues are involved. Each bed is built to order in LaFayette, Georgia, and it cannot be returned, so settle the size, the length and the mattress before you buy.

Straight talk

Is it right for you?

A good fit if you

  • want to sleep or sit up with the head or the foot raised
  • want to keep the headboard you have
  • want a one-piece King, or two beds side by side that adjust on their own
  • want a home mattress on an adjustable base, with eight to choose from

Look elsewhere if you

  • need the whole bed to raise and lower, which the Hi-Low SL does
  • weigh more than 300 lbs. and do not add the Heavy Duty Reinforcement
  • have been told by a physician that you need a hospital bed
  • may want to send it back, because a bed built to order cannot be returned
