A docking device holds your equipment, and it is sold separately
Harmar does not include one, because the right part depends on your chair or scooter. Choose the one that matches your equipment in the step headed Your docking device, or tell us what you have and we match it for you before your order ships.
The AL225 is the inside hoist for lighter equipment, and the 250 lbs. capacity is the number that decides whether it suits you. A folding manual chair, a travel scooter or a lighter power chair are all inside it. Most full size power wheelchairs are not, and that is the honest limit of this lift. What you get for staying inside it is a two axis lift that raises and rotates under power, at 55 lbs. installed, with a wired pendant remote in the box.
Two other things worth knowing before you buy. Harmar does not offer its wireless remote on this model, so the control stays corded. And the docking device that actually grips your chair is not in the box, which is a real second cost, priced on this page so you can see the whole figure before you order.
Look at the AL215 if you are happy to swing the boom across by hand, because it costs a good deal less and weighs 42 lbs. installed. Look at the AL425 if your equipment is heavier than 250 lbs., or the AL435 if you want the boom to extend as well as lift and turn. Look at the AL300 Fusion or the AL500 if you would rather the device rode outside on a platform and kept the cabin free.

Fitting it to your vehicle
A hoist lift is installed on the vehicle rather than unpacked and used. This is what that involves.
The lift mounts to the floor of the vehicle on a base adapter, and Harmar puts a universal base adapter in the box along with the wired pendant remote. The arm sits between 30" and 40" high and its length adjusts from 21" to 32". The docking device that holds your equipment is not included, because the right part depends on the chair or scooter it has to lift.

Work through the steps beside this panel. They settle how the lift mounts, which hitch adapter your vehicle takes and whether your state requires a plate riser, so the parts that arrive are the parts your vehicle takes.

Every order ships from the manufacturer to the address you give us. The carrier arranges a delivery window with you in advance. Installation is arranged separately, and we will point you at what your vehicle needs before you order rather than after.

What is not covered
The three year term runs from the date of installation and from the date of retail purchase. Harmar states that the warranty is transferable only where the application is approved by Harmar's Compatibility Calculator, so a lift fitted to a vehicle that was never checked may not carry a transferable warranty.
If something goes wrong
Call us first at 1-855-HIELINE. We file the claim with Harmar for you and get the covered part sorted out rather than handing you a phone number. The base warranty covers parts, so ask us about service and labor options when you call.
Returns
A hoist lift cannot be returned. It is fitted to your vehicle, wired into it and in many installations drilled into it, so once that work is done the unit is matched to one car and it has no second life on the shelf. This is exactly why the steps beside this panel exist. They settle the mounting, the adapter and the plate riser before you order.
A unit that arrives damaged or faulty is a different matter and is covered above. Contact us before anyone begins the installation.

This answer decides how much you have to work out yourself. A hoist lift is wired into the vehicle and bolted to a base inside it, so it is fitted rather than unpacked.
