The AL435T Tailgater is a three axis truck lift. It lifts, it extends and it rotates, all under power from a hand control, which is what lets it reach down to the curb or across a tailgate. It takes a manual wheelchair, a power wheelchair or a scooter up to 400 lbs., it weighs 81 lbs. installed, and Harmar puts a folding arm and a universal base adapter in the box.

A docking device holds your equipment, and it is sold separately
Harmar does not include one, because the right part depends on your chair or scooter. Choose the one that matches your equipment in the step headed Your docking device, or tell us what you have and we match it for you before your order ships.
The AL435T is the lift to look at when you drive a pickup and you want the wheelchair or scooter travelling in the bed. Harmar designed it around the tailgate problem. The boom lifts, turns and extends under power, so it reaches 43" down to the curb to collect the device and then across a 24" tailgate to set it down, and it folds out of the way when the bed is doing its ordinary job.
Three honest caveats. Harmar builds it for passenger side installation, so a driver side fit is a conversation to have before you order rather than after, and a vehicle lift cannot be sent back. It carries 400 lbs., which covers most scooters and a great many power wheelchairs and stops short of the heaviest ones. And the docking device that grips your chair is a real second cost that Harmar does not include, priced on this page so you can see the whole figure before you order.
Look at the AL435 instead if you drive a van or an SUV, because it is the same three axis lift built to load inside a vehicle rather than over a tailgate. Look at the AL425HD if your power wheelchair weighs more than 400 lbs., because it takes 450 lbs.

What is not covered
The three year term runs from the date of installation and from the date of retail purchase. Harmar states that the warranty is transferable only where the application is approved by Harmar's Compatibility Calculator, so a lift fitted to a vehicle that was never checked may not carry a transferable warranty.
If something goes wrong
Call us first at 1-855-HIELINE. We file the claim with Harmar for you and get the covered part sorted out rather than handing you a phone number. The base warranty covers parts, so ask us about service and labor options when you call.
Returns
A truck lift cannot be returned. It is fitted to your vehicle, wired into it and in many installations drilled into it, so once that work is done the unit is matched to one car and it has no second life on the shelf. This is exactly why the steps beside this panel exist. They settle the mounting, the adapter and the plate riser before you order.
A unit that arrives damaged or faulty is a different matter and is covered above. Contact us before anyone begins the installation.

You can run it from its own battery instead by adding the battery pack in the step headed Accessories. It comes with a charger, and use it where a hybrid or electric vehicle has no 12 volt battery able to power a mobility lift.

The manufacturer does not put one in the box, because the right one depends on your equipment, and the lift cannot carry anything without it. Most chairs and scooters lift either by the centre seat post or by the four post seat frame. Choose the one that matches yours and we confirm the exact part with you before your order ships.
2 · Your docking device
This answer decides how much you have to work out yourself. A truck lift is wired into the vehicle and bolted to a base inside it, so it is fitted rather than unpacked.
