Harmar AL690
The AL690 is the side door member of Harmar's hybrid platform family. Where the AL600 works at the back of the vehicle, this one loads through the side door, which is what you need when the rear is not the practical opening or the cargo area is already spoken for. The platform comes all the way to the ground, so the chair is driven or pushed on rather than hooked and swung, and it adjusts from 21.5" to 29" wide to suit the device. It carries up to 275 lbs., the vertical reach is 35", and it weighs 186 lbs. installed. Securement is manual straps.

Measure the door opening before you order
You need 32" of headroom and 55" of depth. Those two numbers decide whether it fits, and a vehicle lift cannot be returned once it is fitted, so take the tape to it first.
The AL690 exists for the vehicle where the back is not the answer. Plenty of vans and minivans have a side door that is the natural way in, or a rear that is already full, and every other lift we carry assumes you are loading at the tailgate or on a hitch. This one does not.
It is a platform lift, so the chair rolls on at ground level rather than being hooked and swung, and the platform adjusts from 21.5" to 29" wide to suit what is going on it. The 275 lbs. rating covers a good many power chairs and stops short of the heaviest.
The number that decides it is the 55" of depth you need at that door, which is more than the AL600 needs at the rear. Measure it before you commit, because this is fitted to the vehicle and cannot be sent back. And note the lift itself puts 186 lbs. permanently into the vehicle.
Look at the AL600 Classic instead if you can load at the rear, because it takes 350 lbs. and needs less depth. Look at the hitch mounted lifts if you would rather keep the inside of the vehicle completely free.

Fitting it to your vehicle
A hybrid platform lift is installed on the vehicle rather than unpacked and used. This is what that involves.
The lift is fitted at the side door and bolts to the vehicle floor. You need 32" of headroom and 55" of depth, so measure both before you order. If you would rather not have the floor drilled, Harmar's no-drill adapter is listed in the step headed Base adapter. Securement is manual straps and they come with the lift, so there is no docking device to choose.

What is not covered
The three year term runs from the date of installation and from the date of retail purchase. Harmar states that the warranty is transferable only where the application is approved by Harmar's Compatibility Calculator, so a lift fitted to a vehicle that was never checked may not carry a transferable warranty.
If something goes wrong
Call us first at 1-855-HIELINE. We file the claim with Harmar for you and get the covered part sorted out rather than handing you a phone number. The base warranty covers parts, so ask us about service and labor options when you call.
Returns
A hybrid platform lift cannot be returned. It is fitted to your vehicle, wired into it and in many installations drilled into it, so once that work is done the unit is matched to one car and it has no second life on the shelf. This is exactly why the steps beside this panel exist. They settle the mounting, the adapter and the plate riser before you order.
A unit that arrives damaged or faulty is a different matter and is covered above. Contact us before anyone begins the installation.

The base adapter is the plate the lift bolts to inside your vehicle. A universal one comes in the box at no charge and it suits most vehicles. Some vehicles need the adapter built for them instead, and where yours does, the part below replaces the universal one rather than adding to it.
