It charges in the charger that came with the cradle, part 0Y0458, in about 6 hours, and the charger does not overcharge it. Joerns asks that it is kept charged and never stored flat, because a battery left flat can stop taking a charge. It powers only the cradle. The lift itself runs on a different battery pack, which is 0Y0067 on the Presence and the Stature. Joerns' drawing on this page shows the battery above its holder on the cradle.
