The Hoyer Classic Padded U-Sling with Head Support is the padded Hoyer Classic general purpose U-sling with a head support. It holds up to 600 lbs. and comes in four sizes.
Joerns' Classic general purpose U-sling, padded, with a head support.
What stands out
The Hoyer Classic Padded U-Sling with Head Support is the general purpose sling of the Hoyer Classic line, which Joerns also calls the Universal sling. Joerns says it is easy to fit and suits about 85 percent of people. The U shape slides down behind a seated person and the two leg pieces pass under the thighs. This version is padded and carries the head. It has webbing loops for the 4-point cradle of the Hoyer Classic lifts, and the longer the shoulder straps are attached, the more reclined the person sits. The safe working load is 600 lbs., and the lift's own capacity still applies. The binding on the edge is color coded by size, and Joerns gives a weight range for each size as a starting point. Joerns asks that a competent person assesses the person, the sling and the transfer before any sling is used.
Straight talk
Is it right for you?
A good fit if you
- use a Hoyer HML400
- need the head supported during the lift
Look elsewhere if you
- are lifted for bathing, where the mesh U-sling drains
- weigh more than the 400 lbs. the Hoyer HML400 lifts
Every size is listed here for reference. Choose your size in Ready to Buy above.
