The Hoyer Deluxe Stand-Aid Disposable Sling is a standing sling for one person. It goes behind the back, between the shoulder blades and the bottom of the rib cage, and loops onto the stand aid, which raises the person into standing. Because it stays with one person and is thrown away when it is soiled or worn, it lowers the risk of cross infection. It must never be washed. Joerns says it is a special purpose sling and does not suit double amputees or lifting from lying down. It has webbing loops for the hooks of the Hoyer Journey and the Hoyer Elevate. The shorter loops bring the person more upright. The safe working load is 440 lbs., and the lift's own capacity still applies. The binding on the edge is color coded by size, and Joerns gives a weight range for each size as a starting point. It is sold singly. Joerns asks that a competent person assesses the person, the sling and the transfer before any sling is used.

Joerns gives a recommended weight for each size: Small 75 to 150 lbs., Medium 125 to 200 lbs., Large 175 to 440 lbs. Joerns says the weight range is only a guideline, because height and build change the fit, so have a clinician or therapist confirm the size.
Can it be washed?
No. Joerns says a disposable sling is for one person and must never be washed, because washing weakens it. Throw it away when it is soiled or worn.
Does a Hoyer lift come with one?
No. Hoyer lifts ship without a sling, so the sling is ordered with the lift or on its own.
What is the warranty?
