The Hieline Take
The Elevate is the heavier of the two Hoyer powered stand aids, for a larger person or for many transfers a day. It raises a seated person to standing with a motor and a standing sling. The person puts their feet on the angled foot tray and their shins on the knee pad, the sling goes around their back, and the hand control raises the boom. It carries 440 lbs., which is 100 lbs. more than the Hoyer Journey. The base legs open and close from the hand control, and the knee pad moves up and down with one hand on a spring lever. Lift the foot tray off and the person can stand on the floor and walk with it under close supervision. The Smart Monitor counts lifts, stops the lift on an overload and shows when service is due. The trade is size. The Elevate weighs about 136 lbs. and does not fold, where the Journey weighs 88.6 lbs. and folds. It is only for a person who can sit and bear some weight, and it ships without a sling.

Patient lifts cannot be returned. If it arrives damaged or defective, tell us within 48 hours of delivery and we will get it repaired or replaced at no cost to you.
If something goes wrong
Call us first at 1-855-HIELINE. We file the claim with Joerns Healthcare for you and get the covered part sorted out rather than handing you a phone number.
A person who can sit up and bear some of their own weight, and who needs help to stand. A person who cannot bear weight needs a sling lift instead.
Does it come with a sling?
No. It ships without a sling and it needs one to raise a person. Its manual names the Hoyer Standing sling and the Hoyer Transport sling.
How much weight does it lift?
440 lbs.
Does it have a scale?
No. This is the Elevate without a scale, model HOY-ELEVATE-S. Joerns also makes it with a built-in digital scale. Contact us if you need that version and we will quote it.
What comes in the box?
The stand aid, the hand control, the battery pack, the desk top charging stand, the charging cord and the documents.
Can it be used as a walking aid?
Yes, with the foot tray removed, after a careful assessment of the person and with someone supervising closely.
What happens if the hand control or the power fails?
The control box has backup buttons under the emergency stop button. If the power fails completely, a red mechanical release on the actuator lowers the person slowly.
What is the warranty?
Joerns covers the mechanical and electrical components for 2 years from delivery and the aluminum structure and welds for 15 years. Batteries and casters are covered for 90 days and the hand control for 1 year. That is the HoyerPro warranty dated 2025, which is on this page. The user manual prints an older term of 5 years on the structure.
Can I return it?
No. Patient lifts cannot be returned. If the lift arrives damaged or defective, tell us within 48 hours of delivery and we will get it repaired or replaced at no cost to you.
