The Hieline Take
The HPL700 is the Hoyer lift for a person the other lifts cannot carry. Its safe working load is 700 lbs., and everything about it is sized for that. The lift weighs 150 lbs., the base alone weighs 83 lbs., and the base legs open from 23.5" to 42.25" inside from the hand control. It ships with the wide 6-point loop spreader bar, which travels from 23.25" to 69" and takes the Hoyer bariatric slings. Two battery packs and a charging stand come in the box, so one pack charges while the other works. The Smart Monitor on the control box counts lifts, stops the lift on an overload and shows when service is due. Check the room before you order. The base is 27.5" wide with the legs closed, the lift needs a 62" turning radius, and the ground clearance is 0.625", so it is for hard, level floors. If the person weighs under 500 lbs., the Hoyer Presence is 62 lbs. lighter to push. The HPL700 ships without a sling.

If something goes wrong
Call us first at 1-855-HIELINE. We file the claim with Joerns Healthcare for you and get the covered part sorted out rather than handing you a phone number.
Does it come with a sling?
No. It ships with its 6-point bariatric loop spreader bar and without a sling, and it needs one to lift a person. Its manual names the Hoyer bariatric Full Back, Quickfit and Hammock slings.
Does it have a scale?
No. This is the HPL700 without a scale, model HPL700-S2. Joerns also makes it with a built-in digital scale. Contact us if you need that version and we will quote it.
How much weight does it lift?
700 lbs., which is 318 kg. The manual and the Joerns page print 700 lbs. beside 227 kg, and 227 kg is a misprint for 500 lbs.
Will it fit through a doorway?
The base is 27.5" wide outside with the legs closed. Measure the narrowest doorway on the route before you order.
What floors does it need?
Hard, level floors. The ground clearance is 0.625", and the manual rules out thick pile carpet with a person in the sling.
What comes in the box?
The lift, the 6-point bariatric loop spreader bar, the hand control, two battery packs, the desk top charging stand, the charging cord and the documents.
What happens if the hand control or the power fails?
The control box has backup buttons for raising, lowering and the base under the emergency stop button. If the power fails completely, a red mechanical release on the actuator lowers the person slowly.
What is the warranty?
Joerns covers the mechanical and electrical components for 2 years from delivery and the structural components for 5 years. Batteries and casters are covered for 90 days. Those are the terms in the HPL700 user manual, which is on this page.
Can I return it?
No. Patient lifts cannot be returned. If the lift arrives damaged or defective, tell us within 48 hours of delivery and we will get it repaired or replaced at no cost to you.
