The Freestander holds a child upright, and its strength is at the pelvis: the positioning belt pulls the hips into line over the base, which helps a child with tight hips or knees stand straight. Choose the size by standing height, then decide on the feet, since sandals are not in the box; many children need a pair, and the measuring guide sets the size. Add the hip belt or the solid pelvic plate when the therapist wants more hold at the hips than the standard belt gives. The low footplate is worth a look if your child transfers from a wheelchair, because it cuts the lift at every transfer.
