A battery sling lift with a powered boom and a powered base. One hand control raises and lowers the person and opens the legs to 49.5", and it carries 700 lbs.
Built for real life
What stands out
●
Powered boom and base
One hand control raises and lowers the person and opens and closes the base legs, so nothing is pumped or levered by hand.
●
Carries 700 lbs.
The heavy frame and actuator are rated for a person up to 700 lbs.
●
Base opens to 49.5"
The legs spread from 29" to 49.5" across the outside to go around a wide chair or commode, and close to roll through a doorway.
●
Battery that comes off to charge
The battery pack lifts off the control box, shows its charge on a display and sounds an alarm at about half charge.
●
Two ways to lower in an emergency
A button on the control box lowers the person if the hand control fails, and a collar on the actuator lowers them by hand if the power fails.
The Hieline Take
The Medline MDS700EL is a fully powered sling lift for a heavier person, or for a home where the caregiver should not be pumping a hydraulic lift by hand. Both the boom and the base run from a four-button hand control. Two buttons raise and lower the person, and two open and close the legs of the base, so the caregiver can keep both hands near the person during the transfer. It carries 700 lbs. and weighs 184 lbs., so it is a large lift for a large room. The base legs sit 4.25" off the floor and spread from 29" to 49.5" across the outside. The battery pack lifts off the control box to charge, and Medline rates a full charge at about 80 to 100 lifts and lowers. If the hand control fails, a button on the control box lowers the person electrically, and a collar on the actuator lowers the person by hand if the power fails. The lift ships with its 6-point cradle and without a sling. Medline asks that only compatible slings be used on its lifts, so pick a Medline sling on this page, sized to the person and rated for their weight.

Does it come with a sling?
No. It ships with its 6-point cradle and without a sling, and you need one to lift a person. Pick a Medline full-body sling on this page. The 2XL slings carry 700 lbs. and the M, L and XL slings carry 450 lbs.
Can I use a sling from another brand?
Medline's manual says to use only compatible slings on its lifts and warns that a non-Medline sling could be unsafe. The Medline slings on this page hook to this cradle.
How does it lift?
With a battery-powered actuator. The hand control has four buttons: raise the boom, lower the boom, open the legs and close the legs.
How much weight does it lift?
700 lbs. The sling you use must also be rated for the person's weight.
How high does it lift?
Medline publishes the overall height of the lift, 71", and does not publish the range of the boom.
How long does the battery last?
Medline rates a full charge at about 80 to 100 lifts and lowers. The battery pack lifts off the control box to charge, a full charge takes about 6 hours, and Medline recommends charging it every night.
What if the power fails with a person in the sling?
Turn the collar at the top of the actuator shaft and the person lowers by hand. If only the hand control fails, press the emergency lowering point on the control box with a pen tip and the lift lowers electrically.
Can it lift a person from the floor?
Yes. Lock the rear casters when you lift from the floor. For every other lift leave the casters unlocked so the lift can settle under the person.
Does it need assembly?
Yes. You bolt the boom to the mast, attach the actuator and the cradle, mount the control box and the battery and plug in the cables. The manual on this page shows each step.
What is the warranty?
Medline covers the base and frame for 3 years and the electronics, the actuator included, for 3 years. The battery is covered for 12 months. The warranty ends if the lift changes owner.
Can I return it?
No. Patient lifts cannot be returned. If the lift arrives damaged or defective, tell us within 48 hours of delivery and we will get it repaired or replaced at no cost to you.
Not includedA sling. You need one to lift a person. Use a sling that suits this lift and is rated for the person's weight. The Medline slings on this page fit it.
Add a slingOptional
The lift ships without a sling and needs one to lift a person. Pick a Medline sling rated for the person's weight: the 2XL slings carry 700 lbs., the others 450 lbs. Not sure of the size? Our team can help you choose.
