Merits Roadster S4
The Roadster S4 is the four-wheel version of the Roadster. It separates into five pieces with no tools, the heaviest of them 36 lbs., and the battery pack lifts out and charges away from the scooter. It carries up to 260 lbs., runs up to 12 miles on a charge, and the fourth wheel trades a little of the three-wheel's maneuverability for a steadier feel.

Four 8" polyurethane wheels give a wider stance than the three-wheel Roadster and a steadier feel on a camber.

The battery pack lifts out and has its own charging port, so you can charge it indoors without the scooter.

The tiller angle adjusts so you can set a comfortable driving position and fold it forward to get on and off.

The Roadster S4 is the Roadster S3 with a fourth wheel, and the two numbers that change are the ones to weigh. The heaviest piece goes from 32 lbs. to 36 lbs., which matters every time you load it into a car, and the scooter goes from 103 lbs. to 107 lbs. In exchange you get a wider stance at the front and a more planted feel on a camber or a kerb cut. Everything else is the same scooter: same 260 lbs. capacity, same 4 mph, same 12 miles, same 18" seat, same 47" turn. Pick the S3 if the lift into the car is the hard part, and the S4 if the ride is.

What is not covered
Wear items are not covered. Those are tires and tubes, fuses and bulbs, battery cases, plastic and rubber parts, motor brushes, brake pads, upholstery including seat and arm pads, and painted surfaces including shrouds and fenders. Accidents, acts of nature, and loss or theft are not covered either.
If something goes wrong
Call us first at 1-855-HIELINE. We file the claim with Merits Health for you and get the covered part sorted out rather than handing you a phone number. The base warranty covers parts, so ask us about service and labor options when you call.
Returns
This mobility scooter may be returned within 30 days of delivery if it is unused and in the original packaging. Contact us before starting a return. A mobility scooter that has been used or is missing original packaging is not eligible for return. See our return policy for complete details.

Coverage at a glance
Common questions
36 lbs. The scooter comes apart into five pieces with no tools, and 36 lbs. is the heaviest single piece you have to lift.
One wheel. The S4 has four and the S3 has three. Capacity, speed, range, seat and turning radius are the same. The S4's heaviest piece is 36 lbs. against the S3's 32 lbs.
Cherry Red and Galaxy Blue, at the same price. The color is the panel on the front of the tiller shroud. The rest of the scooter is charcoal in both.
Merits publishes both figures. Their specification sheet says 260 lbs., and a second document prints 300 lbs. in a table while its own bullet list on the same page says 260 lbs. We publish the lower figure, because a weight rating is not something to round up.
Merits publishes 19" to 21" on one document and 23.5" on another, and nothing settles which is right, so we print neither rather than guess. Ask us and we will measure one.

Allow about two to three days for the order to be processed and shipped, then about five more in transit depending on where you live. No carrier in this trade quotes an exact date, so treat both figures as estimates rather than promises. It arrives boxed at the curb, and getting it inside is yours to arrange.
This one comes in a single box and the setup is not hard. The box goes through a normal doorway and most people manage it on their own. The free option is a fair choice here.
