Two cushions sit on the seat with an open groove between them, so you get the access a cutout gives you and the surface is soft rather than hard plastic, which matters if you sit for a while or you are thin enough that a plastic seat hurts. The arms and the backrest both lift off on spring buttons, so the same chair works as a plain padded bench when the shower is tight.
