What stands out
The 1027HD is the chair to buy when the 300 lbs. rating on a standard shower chair is the problem. The frame is reinforced and cross braced under the seat, which is where the extra capacity comes from, and the seat is 19.5" wide rather than the 15.7" you get on a standard model. It still weighs under 5 lbs., so it is easy to move in and out of the tub. There is no backrest and there are no arms, so it suits someone who is steady once seated and does not need something to push up from. If you want the same capacity with a back to lean on, the 1037HD is the same frame with a removable backrest. Both stand inside the tub or shower, so neither helps you over a tub wall.
