Buy a stool when the problem is standing, not balance. A rider who needs something to push up on or lean against wants arms and a back, and our seats with arms are made for that. What a stool buys is floor space, and in a small shower that is the whole argument.
The two models cost the same. The standard frame is the sturdier assembly and stays put. The tool free one goes together and comes apart by hand, which makes it the one to take travelling, and it sits half an inch higher at its lowest setting, 15.5" against 13.75". If the rider is short, that half inch is the deciding figure.
