Built for real life
What stands out
●
Handrails and curb built in
Every run carries double bar handrails on both sides and a 4" curb, as the ADA asks for above a 6" rise.
●
Freestanding
It stands on its own adjustable legs and does not attach to the house, which PVI says often avoids a permit.
●
Reconfigure or move it
Unbolt the sections to add length, change the layout or take the ramp to a new home.
●
No painting
All aluminum construction resists salt and weather and needs little or no maintenance.
The Hieline Take
The Modular XP is the step up from a portable ramp to a ramp that stays. Each run comes with handrails on both sides and a 4" curb, it stands on its own legs without being fixed to the house, and it bolts together with hand tools, so a local installer or a handy family member can build it. Plan the whole ramp before you order: the rise sets the total length at 1' per inch, a long run needs landings, and a turn needs a platform. When the need changes, it unbolts and moves.

If something goes wrong
Call us first at 1-855-HIELINE. We file the claim with PVI for you and get the covered part sorted out rather than handing you a phone number.
How long a ramp do I need?
Measure the total rise from the ground to the door threshold. At the ADA's 1:12 slope you need 1' of ramp for every 1" of rise, and the ADA calls for a landing at least every 30" of rise. PVI's system allows up to 2:12 where space is short, but check the chair or scooter manual first.
What comes in a run?
Each run includes the ramp sections and handrails for the length you choose. Platforms, stairs, gates, long leg supports and ADA handrail extensions are separate parts.
Who installs it?
Hieline does not install ramps. PVI designs the system to be assembled with common hand tools, at about one person hour per 20' of ramp, and a local ramp installer or a handy helper can put it together. Site preparation and anchoring are extra time.
Do I need a permit?
PVI says the freestanding design often removes the need for one. Check with your city or county before you build.
How do I plan a layout with landings or turns?
Add the platforms you need from the PVI Modular XP Platform page. PVI shows four common layouts in the product sheet: a straight run, a double switchback, a double platform 90 degree turn and a single platform top bridge.
