The Hieline Take
The Wheel-a-Bout fills the gap between a suitcase ramp and a permanent ramp. At 10' or 12' it reaches a porch or a run of steps, and when it is not needed it folds, straps shut and rolls into the garage on its own wheels, which matters because the 12' weighs 98 lbs. It is rated for 600 lbs. with the rider, lower than PVI's suitcase ramps, so check the chair and rider weight together. For a rise that also needs handrails, look at the OnTrac or the Modular XP instead.

Which length do I need?
Measure the rise from the ground to the top of the step or landing. The ADA's 1:12 slope needs 1' of ramp for every 1" of rise. PVI rates its portable ramps for up to 2" of rise per 1' of ramp with an occupied chair or scooter and a helper, and up to 3" per 1' only when loading an empty chair or scooter. Your chair or scooter manual may set a lower limit, and that limit comes first.
Which top hook do I need?
The 2-3/4" standard hook rests on a step or landing. The 9-3/4" utility hook reaches farther onto the top surface, for a raised edge where a short hook would not sit securely.
How does it store?
The panels fold together and a closure strap locks them. The folded ramp stands upright and rolls on its wheels.
