The GoRise TX is an electric transfer lift. Its seat rises from 1" to 28.5", it carries up to 500 lbs., and it rolls on four wheels so a caregiver can move the person a short distance.
A powered seat on four wheels that lifts a person from 1" off the floor to 28.5" and lets a caregiver roll them a short distance to a chair, a bed or a car seat.
What stands out
The GoRise TX does two jobs. It lifts a person from the floor like the GoRise FC and FS, with a seat that lowers to 1" and rises to 28.5", and it also moves the person once they are up. It rolls on two 4" rear wheels and two 2" front casters that lock. You lock the casters, help the person onto the seat, fasten the safety belt and raise the seat with the wired remote. For a transfer, SuperHandy's manual says to set the seat so the feet are 4" to 6" off the floor, release the brakes and move at walking pace or slower. It carries 500 lbs. and runs on its battery or its power adapter. Two limits come from the manual. The TX is always used with a caregiver, and thresholds, uneven floors and thick carpet make it harder to roll. SuperHandy states that it does not replace a specialized medical lift, so a person who cannot sit upright needs a sling lift instead.
Straight talk
Is it right for you?
A good fit if you
- need to lift a person from the floor and then move them to a chair, a bed or a car seat
- have a caregiver present for every use
- weigh up to 500 lbs.
- have flat floors without thick carpet
Look elsewhere if you
- want a lift the person can use alone
- cannot sit upright on a seat with a safety belt, where a sling lift fits
- weigh more than 500 lbs.
- need a lift for the bathtub, where the GoRise LT fits
