A basket that mounts on the front tiller of a Model R, in front of you where you can see and reach it. It holds 8.8 lbs., takes 7.6 litres, and lifts off when you want to carry the contents inside.
A detachable front tiller basket for the WHILL Model R, 12.7" W X 7.5" D X 7.9" H, holding 8.8 lbs. and 7.6 litres, weighing 1.54 lbs.
What stands out
The front basket and the underseat basket on a Model R solve different problems, and most people who buy one end up wanting both. This one sits on the tiller in your line of sight, so it is where a handbag, a phone or a bag of shopping goes when you want to see it. It also detaches, which is the part that matters: you lift the whole basket off and carry it into the house rather than unpacking it at the scooter. The limit is 8.8 lbs., which is a light shop rather than a full one, so heavy things belong under the seat. It needs tools to fit the mounting, so allow a few minutes with a screwdriver when it arrives.
Straight talk
Is it right for you?
A good fit if you
- want your things in front of you rather than under the seat
- want to lift the basket off and carry it inside
- carry a handbag, a coat or a light shop
- own a Model R 3-Wheel or 4-Wheel
Look elsewhere if you
- need to carry more than 8.8 lbs., which belongs in the underseat basket
- want a no-tools fitting
- own a Model C2 or a Model F, because this part does not fit either
